I know I said that my last post would be my final one for 2015 but it wouldn’t be the end of the year if I didn’t do a bit of reminiscing. So I thought I’d do a little round up of the main highlights since we started this journey in April.
In 9 months we have explored 8 different countries over three different continents 🌏🌍 We have flown 13 times ✈ Slept in 80 different beds, 2 tents ⛺ and a camper van 🚐
It was a difficult task trying to think of only a few highlights. As you can see I got a little carried away… Continue reading →
Sabaidee from Laos 👋 WiFi has been rubbish the past few days so I’m a little behind in my blogging.
Our last week in Vietnam was spent chilling in Hanoi & cruising Halong Bay! Hanoi is the capital of Vietnam but it was far more chilled compared to the madness in Ho Chi Minh City so it really didn’t feel like a capital city! Although crossing the road still entailed putting your life at risk. We really didn’t do much in Hanoi – we were kind of using it to chill out after two weeks of being busy non-stop in Vietnam.
When we arrived we sampled a Hanoi speciality – egg coffee. I hate coffee but this was delicious! It had the tiniest bit of coffee at the bottom & nearly a whole cup full of frothy sweet egg 😍 it tasted like hot meringue! Jonny found it a little too sweet!
Another long one guys – the past 2 weeks have been super busy & I haven’t had a second to sit down and update this!
Our time finally came to an end in Cambodia after we overstayed our welcome in Sihanoukville. We were so ready to leave – our last few days consisted of a stay at a hostel that looked like a prison block where I got attacked by a fan blade spinning on full blast 🙈 I almost lost three finger tips, no big deal! The blood dripping on the floor lead Jonny to shout “we need to get you to first aid…I’ll get you to first aid!” He meant well but I think he forgot we were at the prison cell hostel in Cambodia & not health & safety conscious NI! Thankfully my over packed first aid kit finally got put to good use – Germolene saved my little fingers from nasty Cambodian infections! I couldn’t take much more after the rat incident so we moved back to our lovely flash packer hotel for the remaining nights! So on the 19th May we got a bus back to Phnom Penh & then another bus to Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam.
